Ethiopia’s BPO industry is rapidly growing, and we’re seeing more and more talented young people eager to step into the workforce.

After attending the “Outsourcing Opportunities for Job Seekers” event last December, something shifted in us. We met so many bright, motivated young people who were hungry to learn, ready to work, and full of potential—but just didn’t know where to start.

Recognizing the potential to make a real impact, we decided to actively contribute to Ethiopia’s outsourcing future. We launched a hands-on, skill-building BPO training program at our headquarters in Bole, Addis Ababa, aimed at providing practical, job-ready skills to young professionals.

Why We Stepped In

Ethiopia has all the right ingredients to become a BPO powerhouse: a young, educated population, strong English language skills, and a booming tech culture.

With over 175,000 graduates entering the market each year and a median age under 20, the potential is there. But the bridge between graduation and employment? That’s often where things fall apart.

We knew that with a little guidance and the right tools, many of these young people could thrive—in the BPO world.

And honestly, we saw something else too: a way to build our own internal talent pool, trained the way we believe work should be done—with care, empathy, professionalism, and heart.

What the Training Looked Like

We selected 10 passionate applicants who showed genuine interest during the event, invited them into our office, and spent one full month working with them.

This wasn’t a passive sit-and-watch training. We made it practical, engaging, and personal.

They role-played real customer service scenarios, worked on data entry tasks, practiced with actual software, and even got tips on crafting winning resumes.

We talked about what professionalism means. We answered their questions, and they challenged us with fresh perspectives. Every day, we grew—together.

From a Trainee’s Eyes: Zeamanel’s Story

One of our trainees, Zeamanuel, shared how the hands-on training with industry-standard tools deepened his understanding of the BPO sector and helped him grow both personally and professionally.

His words remind us why this program matters:

So, What’s Next?

This was never meant to be a one-time thing. What started as a pilot training has now become a commitment. Every three months, we’ll be opening our doors to a new group of ambitious young professionals, ready to learn and grow in the BPO space.

For us, it’s more than just training—it’s about laying down roots for something bigger. We’re building a reliable talent pipeline, one that we can hire from as we grow, and one that the wider BPO industry in Ethiopia can also benefit from.

These sessions are designed to give participants real, job-ready skills while preparing them to meet the demands of global businesses.

We believe that with consistency, mentorship, and practical experience, we’re not only preparing people for jobs—we’re preparing them for long-term careers.
